On September 16th through September 20th McPherson Magnet had a Kindness week. Each day had a different dress-up theme. On September 16th the theme was rainbow day and that was to show all of the different colors of kindness. The next day’s theme was Miss-match Day to show your differences between people. Wednesday’s theme was to team up with a friend and wear your favorite sports jerseys. Thursday’s theme was to go crazy with compliments by wearing crazy accessories. Friday’s theme was to be a hero and wear superhero gear or your super favorite shirt.

McPherson’s leadership class helped sponsor the event, 8th-grade leadership student Teagan Burgeono said, “Kindness Week was (Assistant Principal) Ms. Merha’s idea. The whole week is free dress, and its to show your differences with your clothing.”

“Kindness week is to not exclude anyone, don’t make anyone feel bad about themselves and to don’t make fun of anyone,” said Michelle Vu.

“kindness week is about spreading positivity with each other,” said Aiden Duff. It’s “a great way to start off the year,” said 7th grader Tahlia Munoz.

Kindness is one of McPherson’s focuses this year and Kindness Week was a great way to kick off the theme to be nice to one another.
