6th Grade Meets the Masters

Gwen Huennekens and Aubrey Gallagher

Recently the sixth graders went to meet the masters. They got to meet one of the Japanese artists and learn about their art style. This time they learned about Japanese bamboo ink painting also known as Sumi-e. They painted with ink and learned some Japanese letters. They also made wax stamps to make their signatures. They designed a stamp and colored crayon on the back side and on the side that they designed the stamp went back over it with a pencil with making the wax that they pencil went over it and onto the paper.
