This week on January 7th, 2019 McPherson’s 6th and 7th-grade flag football team played against Portola Middle School at Portola. It was a close game 20 to 18 with a win and also their first win. This was a game to remember and they will give a lot of momentum going into the next game which will be the last. This was a clean game with no interceptions and all flag pulls.

We interviewed two of the players on the team and here is what they said. Connor said: “It was a very close game and it came down to the last drive.” although it was very intense, they managed to pull through. We also interviewed Grant who also plays for the team and he said: “This game was hard to believe but is a strong momentum builder for the next game”. They hope to have a game similar to this game or even better.

This will be the last game of the season hopefully we can close this season out with a win. This was the first win for the 6th and 7th graders and hopefully won’t be the last. They put out an amazing effort to win this game and they put enough effort to do so. This has got to fell so good for McPherson’s 6th and 7th-grade football team since it’s their first win.
